Mommy Makes Me Laugh

Symptoms:

- mid to lower back pain...dull aching always there pain

Cause:

A 25(ish)lbs Monster, a lowered crib mattress and a babe who likes nothing more than to rolls around with his Mom and Dad on the floor

The Remedy:

Massage. Therapy.

Hot. Yoga.

Oh my word my back is so incredibly sore. It probably doesn't help that I lug Owen around multiple times a day, that we use his crib as our changing station and have moved the mattress down a notch, train with my trainer twice a week, and am hunched over our coffee table cutting, gluing and layering paper for days on end.

Mommy's Back Hurt.

A new playlist!

While I absolutely adore that I have to sing All My Loving to Owen multiple times a day...and nothing ill every beat dancing around with him and watching him giggle to Under the Sea...

We needed something fresh.

Tonight, I was driving to my hometown for a Girly Night Out with Momma T, Godmomma, Auntie Bobo, Miss O, Mister A, and Auntie Bobo's bff, Tat, I got thinking about the songs that remind me of my Monster.

Things over the past 8 mnoths have been insane.

INSANE!

I mean...they were hard. Very incredibly ridiculously hard. Harder than I ever imagined becoming a mom would be.

I look back on it, the struggles with breastfeeding, the lack of support, the guilt, the post-partum depression and I cannot believe that I made it through without being committed to a padded room.

Then there are little moments, when I'm rocking Owen in my Mom's rocking chair, eyes closed and nodding off to dreamland...and I'll look down, see him smile with his eyes closed and snuggle in nice and close.

I wouldn't trade it, even the rocky start, for anything in the world.

So...the new playlist is for Owen. Because...well....I love him. With absolutely everything that I am, I love that Monster.

*hands you all a tissue*

We had a great big playdate yesterday! 8 moms! Amazing!

The boys were outnumbered! 5 girls, 3 boys! But the boys all played, threw toys around and stole toys from each other...the girls, on the other hand, sat nicely and were adorable.

Go, Owen, go!

Things he's learned this week:

to say "Daddy" and "My Dada"

to stand at the window

to pivot in a circle while sitting on his bum

to roll over and over and over to get to where he wants to go

to crawl backwards in his crib

to flip over in his crib while having his diaper changed

to lean back on a pillow, while sitting on the floor, then roll over onto his side, and use his arms to push himself backwards

Oh...it's been a long week! The crib mattress is getting lowered this evening, and the baby gates are going up as well. Eek!
