Losing a Friend Sucks : Obituary: View Christine Cameron-Boshart's Obituary by Toronto Star

Christine Chrissie Cameron-Boshart Obituary: View Christine Cameron-Boshart's Obituary by Toronto Star

Today, I've been feeling angry. Why do amazing people like my dear friend Chrissie get taken from this world so soon?

I met Chrissie through Delta Gamma at Wilfrid Laurier University. Never in a million years did I ever think that I would be a sorority girl...but there I was...rushing.

Chrissie met us with open arms, and the biggest and brightest smile I have ever seen. She was wonderful as a sister - a true embodiment of our Do Good motto, and I didn't fully appreciate how amazing she was while I was in university.

That appreciation came years later, when over a few facebook messages back and forth about General Hospital (yes seriously...the show. Sam and Jason finally got engaged!! Squee!! And I totally called it that Brenda would leave Sonny and somehow wind up back with Jax!)

Most recently, Chrissie helped me (though I'm sure she didn't even realize that she was) with my Post Partum Depression. When I was having low days and would logon facebook or twitter, she was there with an encouraging word, and I wouldn't even need to say anything. She just knew that I needed it. She would send me the most amazing messages, filled with so much hope, and love. She truly believed in me, and i will be forever thankful for that.

Words cannot express how much I will miss our daily tweets and messages. It's so weird now that it's all stopped.

I had last chatter with her on Tuesday, just one day before she underwent the spinal surgery that was supposed to fix everything....once and for all.

I had just sent her a journal that I had painted for her...with a note to say Thank you for believing in me. Instead of writing about her recovery, which she was so looking forward to, her friends and family will be writing messages to her in it. The journal will be given to Chrissie, and will go with her on the rest of her journey.

Our Week in {Blackberry} Pictures

uh oh! Maybe in 18 years, buster! Playing with his ride-on....strainers make good hats! (and for funny games of peek-a-boo!)...petting Maggie (she will rub up on his feet when he's in his jumper)

Josh Groban concert with my bff, GodMomma! The opening act was Elew, and he was pretty amazing too!

It was 120F wit the humidex on Wednesday, so we stayed inside...and built a bed-sheet fort where we watched cartoons in the afternoon. Then...a package from Shizz at BabyShmizz came in the mail!!! She's the BEST!

Thursday was a work day for Mama...Citrus Stripe hangables and candy buffet cards

Friday was prep day for GodMomma's bachelorette party on Saturday! Cream cheese stuffed strawberries (note: would have tasted better with cream cheese frosting rather than just plain cream cheese), and Owen making a mess every single time after I'd tidy something up

Y3W: Super Long Hair

Owen has the fullest head of hair, that curls at the ends...

And I'm refusing to cut it. He gets very few things from his Mama, and I'm trying to those curls on his head for as long as possible!

It's also alot of fun at bathtime...

Curly Mohawk (it's so long that it flops over!)

Alfalfa

And our favourite...Mad Scientist

My Fairy Godmother

A few weeks ago, we enjoyed some {much needed} time with my Aunt Jacqui.

She's very very very special to me, and it was so touching to see her meet Owen for the first time and play with him...and fall in love with him.

You see, my Aunt Jacqui is my fairy Godmother {wings, wand and crown included}. She was my Dad's best friend and when I get the chance to be around her (she lives in British Columbia), it feels like my Dad is there with us {queue waterworks right about now}.

These days, I really miss my Dad. I think about him constantly and wonder if he's proud of the tough decisions that C and I have had to make for Owen. I wonder how he would have played with him. I wonder when he would have started teaching him to play the drums and if he would have put him on his shoulders during a parade like he did when I was little {we even made it into the paper one time!}.

I miss what could have been, and seeing Aunt Jacqui brought a flood of emotion for me. We shared a very long heart-to-heart on our first visit, and while Owen was napping had alot of tears and a good snuggle on the couch. I sort of turned into a 5 year old version of myself...aside from the thumb sucking and Strawberry Shortcake doll that went with me everywhere (aptly named Berry).

She assured that scared little girl that her Dad is proud of her and would stand by her decision. She gave me the biggest and best hugs that I could have ever asked for, and it truly felt like Dad was there hugging us both.

Here are a few pictures from our visit

What a whirlwind!

Last week was absolutely jampacked and overly insane! As you've just seen in our blackberry pictures there was a tonne of stuff going on!

The best part for Mama and Daddy was the chance to go out for a date on Tuesday to see Cage the Elephant and the Black Keys. We had an awesome dinner at The Works Burger (if you have the chance to go to one of their Ottawa/Kingston/London locations, DO! Amazing burgers, and SO worth the wait if there is one. I HIGHLY recommend the CherryCoke Float!), walked around a little bit, and then went for the concert.

The music was great, the atmosphere not-so-much. The people next to us were absolutely ridiculously offensive with the most PDA performance I have ever seen in my entire life. Like...hands down the pants PDA!

Anyway!

Thursday was the beset day for Owen and I as I had planned a playdate with my Mama's group at the splashpad in my hometown. It was a bit of a drive for the London Mama's, but it was SO much fun!!

Mister O, just after taking a dunk in the water!

The splash pad is at the pool where Auntie BoBo and Godmomma both work, and we were so excited to see that Auntie BoBo was working that day! Momma T brought both Aiden and Miss Olivia out too!

Colby LOVED the slides! Usually there are water jets and sprayers going everywhere, but during toddler time (10am-noon) they turn them off!

Miss Hayden is ready for the sun!

Quick lunch break, then right back at it!
